Byron Harmon – Mountain photographer –

edited by Carole Harmon, introductory essay by Bart Robinson

“From 1906 to 1934, Byron Harmon photographed and filmed the mountains that have made western Canada famous.
In the days before roadways, it was a full-time occupation for any explorer to venture into the region. But in addition to exploration, Harmon was fully preoccupied with photographing the mountains in their many moods and seasons. As a result Harmon’s photographs shaped the public perception of Canada’s Rocky, Selkirk, and Purcell mountain ranges. His photographs are unforgettable.”
