Set in the heart of the Greater Caucasus, it contains the highest mountains in Europe, semi-desert, subtropical wetlands, a rich wine district and Black Sea coast, much of it peppered with unique 12th – 15th century stone towers. Add to this more species of animals and bird than in any European country and you have a walker’s paradise … except that few know it.
